"... Adva has gradually solidified a personal world and a system of concepts of her own which deal with the idea of family -- not in the traditional Bourgeois sense and not in the nostalgic sense. Karni examines the idea of family on the basis of different combinations, observing family types and relationships. Adva Karni's thoughts and ideas are close to the post-modern spirit and to post- conceptual art. But her technique is classical and makes full use of the advantages of her figurative skills. Adva's tecnique is meticulous and skilled, both with watercolor on paper and oil on canvas or on wood. Her works combine an observation of life with the use of photography and the computer. Together she uses these combined aspects to create a realistic style at its best."
